Perpetual Impact Grant
Perpetual’s Impact Philanthropy Application Program is now open, with all applications closing on Friday 2 December. As UoM is eligible to submit up to three applications from different departments, Advancement will coordinate an internal selection process.

Funding is provided for a wide range of projects at different developmental stages including (but not limited to) pilot and existing projects, capacity building and operational costs. Their guidelines are very broad, but they are looking for projects which demonstrate:
- Strategy: Evidence of strategic goals and demonstrable outcome-orientated measures.
- Outcomes: Evidence of tangible, realistic, measurable and achievable goals and outcomes, including societal impact. Perpetual asks that applicants look beyond the outputs related to their request and demonstrate the potential impact of their activities.
- Unlike some philanthropic funders, they do fund medical research
Guidelines:
- Funding requests must be no more than $120,000, noting the average grant amount is $75,000.
- Funding is distributed in June 2023, so the earliest start date for the project should be July 2023.
- Funding is for a single year and projects should be completed by 30 June 2024
- Funding is provided for a wide range of projects at different developmental stages including (but not limited to) pilot and existing projects, capacity building and operational costs.
- Applications will be assessed based on strategy, outcomes, capability and leadership

- MDHS – 3-Photon Imaging System Research
- FVAS – Feline Research
- MDHS – ‘Confident Voices’: Promoting positive communication attitudes for children who stutter’
- Strengthening children and families in disaster and emergency recovery
- MGSE – The In2School Project, in which MGSE partnered with Travancore School and The Royal Children’s Hospital

State Trustees Disadvantaged Children Grant
State Trustees grant round for Disadvantaged Children is now open, closing on 2 December. UoM is eligible to submit one application so Advancement will coordinate an internal selection process.

State Trustees has developed the Disadvantaged Children grant program to address systemic issues contributing to disadvantage for children. Grants of up to $50k in the first year are available for submissions that:
- Address systemic issues impacting children’s emotional wellbeing, educational attainment, and life achievement
- Are innovative and take a systems view
- Have a focus on prevention
- Deploy integrative and collective impact approaches
- Promote cross‐sector collaboration
- Provide an evidence base to demonstrate the effectiveness of programs
- Are Victorian based
Grants up to $50,000 (with potential to scale up to 3-year, $250k per year partnership from FY2023/24). Projects that outline how this grant of $50,000 will allow the foundations to scale up for a further two years at $250,000 p/year will be highly regarded.
Guidelines:
- State Trustees will not support Universities and other institutions seeking funding for academic research projects or research positions with minimal or no research translation activity or no community-based partners.
- Generally, they will not fund existing positions or supplement existing staff budgets,
