Vacancies for Academics to Join Ethics Committees

Currently we are recruiting researchers for the following committees:

• Greater Than Low Risk (GTLR)

• Low and Negligible Risk (LNR)

The time commitment for the GTLR and LNR involves reviewing applications (approximately 1 hour each application) with maximum of up to 3 applications to review for each meeting. Committee meetings are once a month for approximately 2 hours.

• Faculty Human Research Ethics Advisors (REA). The REA helps the researcher to strengthen their application before it is submitted for ethical review by the committee. Specifically, the REA checks:
  • the application is complete
  • the application addresses the values and principles of the National Statement
  • that disciplinary considerations are addressed and are appropriate
  • the risk-level is appropriate
