1. FoE Disability and Inclusive Seed Funding projects (Round 2) Now Open – Closes 5pm Friday 12 September 2025

FoE Disability and Inclusive Seed Funding projects need to be:

  • Driven by the priorities of people with disability
  • Have practical outcomes
  • Are interdisciplinary; * project team must consist of researchers from at least two different faculties, but funds will only be awarded to FoE staff.
  • Involve strong partnerships with people with disability and/or disability advocacy organisations; and
  • Have a pathway to further research and funding

Teams must be led by a Principal Investigator who must have a salaried academic position of at least 0.5 FTE at FoE. External partners, graduate researchers, honorary or casual researchers can also be involved.

Project funds will be transferred in September 2025 must be spent within a receipt of funds i.e., 31 October 2026

May apply for up to $10,000 funding for projects that meet the criteria.

2. Prof Nicholas Rowe – Horizon Europe Lecture – Link to Recording & Slides

Professor Nicholas Rowe from the University of Auckland presented a seminar on Tuesday 26 August about preparing and leading large European Union funding schemes. Professor Rowe is an international leader in the humanities and social sciences, with expertise in dance, creativity, collaboration, inclusion and education in diverse cultural contexts.
