FoE and FBE – 3rd AI in Research workshop Prompts and RAGs. Or: How to tell AI What To Do

Date: Wednesday 12 February 2025
from 12:00 – 13:30

Location: Room 2.002, Level 2, The Spot Building (Bldg 110), corner Pelham and Berkeley St

In our third AI in Research Workshop for Faculty of Education and Faculty of Business and Economics academics, Professor Eduard Hovy and Dr Mel Mistica will discuss AI in research approaches worldwide, including identifying what seems to be working and what doesn’t in terms of protocols, constraints and guidelines. They will also demonstrate how to set up useful prompts when using generative AI in your research. In this session you will have the chance to try some creative prompt generation through Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) – a technique to improve the quality and accuracy of generated response, and will be able to try out some techniques before the next workshop.
