Congratulations!

Congratulations to John Doolah for being awarded the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success (ACSES) 2025 First Nations Fellowship award. John’s project is “Understanding Torres Strait Islander Knowledge and Shifting Attitudes”, will research the situation of Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems in Australian education to determine how best to apply Torres Strait Islander knowledge through Indigenous perspectives in classroom lessons.

Congratulations to Lisa McKay-Brown for being part of a team lead by Deakin awarded funding from the Ross Trust and the Brian Davis Charitable Foundation to create a centralised web-based knowledge hub for parents and school staff to help address the challenging problem of school refusal and non-attendance.
