GR Supervisors & GR workshops

GR Supervisor Development Series: Strategies and skills for improving GR feedback literacy

Graduate researchers need and want feedback, but sometimes they can seem reluctant to accept it. A key challenge for supervisors is how to navigate the complex terrain of giving feedback in circumstances where students’ feedback literacy may need to be developed alongside their writing. This workshop is an opportunity to share best practice feedback strategies with colleagues, and to develop skills in giving effective and encouraging feedback to graduate researchers.

GRs: Personal Effectiveness at Work and Study: How to submit your thesis on time

In this workshop, Angela will share strategies, hacks and tips for getting your thesis in on time. Strategies will focus on making the most of your thesis-writing time, including planning out your thesis tasks, setting up your thesis well, and finding useful resources. Angela will also talk about the most common mistakes graduate researchers make in writing their thesis. Throughout the session, you will also have time to share your own hacks with fellow graduate researchers at different points in their thesis journey.

In this monthly series, Dr Angela Nicholas, Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing facilitates interactive workshops discussing strategies and hacks for how you can work smart during your postgraduate research years and keep a life outside.
