AI in Research: An Introduction for Faculty of Business and Economics and Faculty of Education academics, Wednesday 30 October 2024

Are you keen to learn more about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and generative AI in research? Or are you already using AI and want to know what’s planned in this space?

Faculty of Education (FoE) and Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) academics are invited to join University of Melbourne AI in Research Academic Convenors Professor Jane Kaye and Associate Professor Sam Baron, and key AI experts from the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform, Melbourne Connect, Research and Enterprise, and Scholarly Services in an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI in research.

In our seminar you will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about the AI in Research landscape at Melbourne from the Academic Convenors, including where are we now, and what’s next?
  • provide feedback to the Academic Convenors on your experience in AI and your needs: are you an expert user, or just starting out? Where are our pockets of expert users?
  • hear from Prof Ed Hovy (Melbourne Connect) and Dr Mel Mistica (Research and Enterprise) about what Generative AI and AI is, and about the tools, platforms, and support for researchers now available at The University of Melbourne.
