2025 Westpac Research Fellowship
The 2025 Westpac Research Fellowship round will commence shortly. As part of the scheme processes, a separate UoM EOI process will open from Friday 21st of June onwards.

- Monday 24 June – UoM Information Webinar (11am-12pm; register here)
- Tuesday 16 July – Westpac Information Seminar (1.30pm; register here)
- Thursday 18 July – UoM EOI due to RIC via SmartyGrants (form available Friday 21 June)
- Tuesday 30 July – UoM EOI outcomes
- Tuesday 20 August – Full applications due to RIC for compliance reviews
- Wednesday 28 August – Full applications due to Westpac
About the scheme:
- Westpac Scholars Trust are offering two Fellowships valued at $330,000 over 3-5 years plus UoM cash contribution 2:1 ratio (Department/School/Faculty: Chancellery to the maximum amount of $105,000.
- The funds can be used towards project costs if the applicant already has an existing fellowship e.g., DECRA.
- Researchers must have been awarded their PhD between 2018-2021. Career interruptions can be claimed up to a maximum of 4 years prior to 2018. If the PhD has been awarded after 2021, they are not eligible to apply.
- Research must align with one of the priority areas:
- Sustainable Futures;
- Australia in Asia;
- An Inclusive Country; or
- Thriving Tech Sector.

Please note that you will need to have a signed Dean declaration form to support your EOI application, and a signed RCPT form to support your full application. RIC will arrange for the DVCR letter of support at the full application stage.
