Universitat Bielefeld: Call for Proposals – Interdisciplinary Research in Groups
This scheme is open to scholars from all disciplines post-PhD, based in Germany and abroad. They can propose a research project to be conducted with a curated group of (preferably) international colleagues. Interdisciplinary research projects are primarily dedicated to theoretical reflection and aim at generating new insights in the disciplines involved, very much in the sense of basic research.
The following three funding formats are offered:
1. Visiting Groups
Value: Up to €50,000 (approx. AU$85,000)
Duration: 1 to 3 months
2. Resident Groups
Value: Up to €400,000 (approx. AU$667,740)
Duration: 1 to 3 months
3. Visiting Groups
Value: Up to €200,000 (approx. AU$335,000)
Duration: Covering 3-year period
Funds cover the costs for travel and accommodation as well as workshops and conferences. Personnel expenses (buy-outs) are not covered.

DAAD German Academic Exchange Service: Study Visits for Academics – Artist and Architects
This programme promotes artistic cooperations through funding for study visits at state or state-recognised universities in Germany. Scholarships are for one to three months and are funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
Eligibility: The research project must be coordinated with the cooperation partner in Germany.
Value: €2000 to €2150 per month (approx. AU$3,350 to AU$3,600)
Duration: 1 to 3 months
Application deadlines:
Thursday 5 October 2023 (start dates from May 2024)
Wednesday 3 April 2024 (start date from August 2024)
