Congratulations to our Researchers this August
The Faculty had many reasons to celebrate this August, including success with major grants and awards. Congratulations to our colleagues on these key accomplishments and contributions to our field over the last month.
- Professor Tricia Eadie and Dr Penny Levickis as CIs on a successful Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Grant lead by Curtin University. The project, “Social determinants of mental health among children with language difficulties: Identifying intervention targets to prevent mental disorders” aims to find effective and affordable interventions—other than the standard talking therapies—for children with speaking, reading, or writing difficulties, to provide early support to these children before mental health problems become serious.
- Graduate researcher Chris Hudson (supervisors Professor David Gurr, Dr Helen Goode, and Dr Stanley Koh), for being awarded the 2023 New Voice Scholarship by the Australian Council of Educational Leadership (ACEL). The New Voice Scholarship recognises forward thinking, contextually relevant, and responsive educational leaders whose work has had an impact above and beyond their immediate context.
- Associate Professor Gavin Slemp successful award of an Institution of Coaching (Harvard Medical School affiliate) Grant on “Job crafting as a coaching framework to enhance employee wellbeing”.
- Professors Dianne Vella-Brodrick and Tricia Eadie’s successful award as part of an international project on positive early childhood experiences in Kazakhstan.
Please forward to the MERI-Grants team any recent success so we can celebrate!
