Now open – MGSE Seed Funding Scheme (Second Round) Close 28 June 5pm
The 2023 Seed Funding Scheme (Second Round) aims to support the next generation of MGSE researchers; foster collaborations; and enhance research impact. Priority will be given to applications demonstrating how the timeliness of these funds will benefit research that is currently underway.
There will be two schemes available for MGSE researchers:

- Individual seed funded projects – maximum of up to $5,000 per application
The Scheme’s objectives are to:
- Support “in-train” research initiatives that would benefit from a timely injection of additional funds, to be spent by 31 December 2023;
- Support early-career and mid-career researchers to progress their research careers;
- Expand established programs of research;
- Support high quality research that enhances competitiveness in applying for Cat 1-3 external research grants;
- Enhance research impact and translation through quality outputs and applied outcomes;
- Foster a diverse and inclusive academic community with a strong research culture;
- Provide research funding for projects that are strategically aligned with the University’s Advancing Melbourne 2030 strategy and MGSE’s Strategic Plan2022-2026, The Time Is Now.
