Horizons Program – Applications Open for ECAs & GRs
Hosted by the Melbourne Centre for Cities with support from the Researcher Development Unit, the Horizons program is a pilot program designed to support the internationalisation of graduate and early career researchers in a time of deep global disruptions and disconnections. GR supervisors please forward to your students.
Participation in the program will involve engagement with internationally focused scholars and organisations, as well as the fostering of critical skills that can inform the development of their own research and equip them in international career building. The program will have a particular focus on:
- expanding participants’ understanding of the modes, possibilities and challenges of international engagement when conducting cities research;
- reviewing the changing landscape of key international career development processes for graduate and early career researchers (e.g. overseas fieldwork, conferencing, visiting, joint degrees/supervisions, international funding sources, international career opportunities beyond academia) and;
- building an inclusive community of practice and exchange that goes beyond one-directional training and expands the support system available for cities researchers to ‘think international’.
How To Apply
Applications are now open and will close at 12pm midday on Monday 2 May 2022. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 6 May 2022.
