ARC Discovery Project Applications Now Open

The Australian Research Council has now opened its Discovery Project funding scheme for new applications. Interested MGSE Academics – who may either be lead Chief Investigators or non-lead Chief Investigators on an application via a different eligible Australian university – are invited to apply via the ARC’s Research Management System portal, which opens on Tuesday, 22nd March for the Discovery Project scheme.

MERI can provide Pre-Award grant advisory services to help you (and your team) with your Discovery Project application. Please contact MERI Grants to discuss your application ASAP. MERI can organise mentors who will provide academic field/discipline guidance on your draft application.

MERI and RIC’s current dates for the Discovery Project funding round are as follows:

18th March 2022: Release of ARC Discovery Project scheme Guidelines.

22nd March 2022: Applications open in RMS.

8th April 2022: Submit draft Application for review by MERI and Mentors.

21st April 2022: Submit review ready applications to RIC and MERI.

4th May 2022: Authority to Submit form to MERI (from both lead Chief Investigators and non-lead Chief Investigators who are on applications that are led by other eligible Australian universities).

11th May 2022: Final Application is due to RIC.

17th May 2022: Final Application is due to ARC.
