Now Open – Faculty of Education Researcher Development Funding Scheme

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Education Researcher Development Funding Scheme for projects commencing January 2024 is now open.

The objectives of the scheme are to:

  • Support early-career and mid-career researchers to progress their research careers;
  • Seed new areas of discovery;
  • To expand established programs of research;
  • Build new or existing collaborations into a competitive larger-scale proposition for major external research funding sources;
  • Provide competitive funding for high quality research projects and pilot research; projects that enhance competitiveness in applying for Cat 1-3 external research grants;
  • Enhance research impact through quality and applied outcomes;
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive academic community with a strong research culture;
  • Provide research funding for projects that are strategically aligned with the University

Projects which advance FoE’s strategic priorities and articulate Indigenous, International, and Diversity dimensions are strongly encouraged.

Funding for this scheme:

  • Maximum $5,000 awarded to individual researchers for 2024 only
  • Maximum $20,000 awarded to team-based projects for 2024 only

New funding option:

  • Maximum $20,000 awarded to team-based projects over 2 years
    • 50% of requested funds awarded in 2024
    • 50% of requested funds awarded in 2025

Please note – New selection criteria: IMPACT. Applicants require to provide Impact Plan for the project from the Impact Planner via the UoM Research Gateway. More details will be provided at the information/workshop session.

We will be holding a information/workshop session on Tuesday 31 October between 2-3pm in the meeting room on Level 7 as well as on Zoom. The session will be recorded
