TRAM Track is BACK for a second cohort in 2023!

For research teams or individuals who want to maximise their research impact.

What is TRAM Track?
The Track program is a guided cohort learning program that focuses on customer discovery to propel your research towards impact. The program content enables you to understand what problem your research solves and who exactly for.

Program details:
Start date: 6 September 2023
Duration: 11 weeks, covering nine weeks of content
Day: Wednesdays
Time: 9.30am – 12.30pm

What will I get out of TRAM Track?
As part of the 11-week program, the tangible outcomes of the program include:

  • Developing a value proposition canvas
  • Stakeholder ecosystem mapping
  • Customer empathy mapping, and
  • Creating an IP asset register.

How is TRAM Track delivered?
Weekly group program sessions, held face-to-face in the TRAM space at Melbourne Connect

  • Weekly one-on-one coaching from the TRAM team, and
  • Mentorship from either the Business Development team or the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Team, whomever is most suited for your research team.

Additionally, the program culminates at TRAM Track Presentation Day where all teams present their research impact journey to the wider university ecosystem.

InnovatEd 

InnovatEd is more than a program just for those with an idea for an Edtech solution. InnovatEd is a program that shows participants how to approach problems and turn them into an impactful solution.  

There is no cost to the individual or school for attendance. We are keen to have the biggest impact possible by empowering as many students, staff and alumni across all faculties at the University. 

2023 Melbourne InnovatEd Bootcamp

InnovatEd is a Chancellery funded innovation program to support innovation around teaching, learning and technology. If this is your first-time hearing from us and are interested, there are some case studies and details available here

InnovatEd Bootcamp, which gives students, staff and alumni the opportunity to explore what Edtech means, how to identify problems and learn the skills to solve them.  Our Bootcamp is about providing the framework for problem solving, about learning how to take your idea and test it for viability.  You do not need an Edtech idea or project already underway to participate.

Participants will:

  • Learn entrepreneurial methodology and thinking that will help you understand how to solve problems with key stakeholders in mind
  • Connect with a broad range of people and network with fellow Edtech and innovation enthusiasts
  • Walk away with new skills and a refined ability to problem solve

Dates:
The Bootcamp is held across 3 sessions, participants must attend all 3 sessions.

  • Tuesday 15 August 4.00pm – 8.00pm
  • Friday 18 August 9.00am – 5.00pm
  • Saturday 19 August 9.30am – 1.30pm

InnovatEd Incubation Funding Program

This program is focused on supporting projects and innovations that address problems in the tertiary teaching, learning and assessment environments that can be improved with technology. The program runs over 12 months and offers up to $25k in funding plus mentoring and bespoke project guidance and management. Projects can be at any stage of development, from idea to already-in-use and looking to scale.

Applicants will receive:  

  • Funding of up to $25,000 for up to four participating projects   
  • Bespoke project guidance and mentoring support from Edtech and startup experts   
  • Connections to the wider education and innovation community   
  • Hot desk in the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre at Melbourne Connect 

Dates: 

  • Applications for the incubation funding program open 28 July 2023 and close 28 August 2023
