Climate Research Accelerator (CRX) Funding 2023

MCF is promoting the following opportunity, and we’d be grateful if you could share this among your networks.

Climate Research Accelerator (CRX) Funding 2023

Melbourne Climate Futures (MCF) was established by the University of Melbourne in 2021 to lead on climate change, the first ‘global challenge’ identified by the University under the Advancing Melbourne 2030 strategy. MCF aims to accelerate the transition to a positive climate future, focusing efforts both nationally and globally, especially in the Indo-Pacific Region. MCF builds on decades of UoM climate research, bringing together academics across disciplines to develop practical outcomes for the challenges ahead.

The MCF Climate Research Accelerator (CRX) is an important part of this solutions toolkit. The CRX will fund up to 9 projects that are either:

  • In a start-up or initiation phase – Initial seed funding ($25k)
  • Established already – Sapling funding ($40k)

The projects must be able to demonstrate high likelihood of making an immediate impact on the climate problem.

The call for submissions will open on Thursday 1 September 2022 and close Friday 30 September 2022. Full application details and documents are available on the CRX webpage.

MCF will host a half-hour information drop-in session via Zoom on Tuesday 13 September 2022 at 10:00am for researchers to attend and discuss their potential projects with MCF. The intention of the session is to provide interested researchers with an opportunity to receive more background details, meet others who are interested in applying, and ask any questions they might have. We encourage all interested researchers to join. Register for the session.
