ARC Linkage 2021 Round 3 Outcomes

Congratulations to Associate Professor Hernan Cuervo with colleagues in the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, Melbourne Institute, and Dublin University on the success of their ARC Linkage Submission, Securing the next generation in farming and food careers.

One of only two University projects to receive funding in the last round, the project will investigate why and how young people enter, stay or leave jobs and careers in the agri-food sector. Expected outcomes include the co-design of youth-appropriate industry and education policy proposals, new models of youth engagement in agri-food, and better career outcomes for young people.

MGSE acknowledges the significant contribution this study will make to society and the discipline, and congratulate Hernan and the team on this really outstanding outcome.

We also wish to recognize the efforts of those who submitted applications who were not so fortunate.  Considerable time and energy is invested in negotiating, crafting, and submitting these applications, and those efforts are also very much appreciated.

If you are planning to submit a Linkage Project application, please contact mgse-grants@unimelb.edu.au as soon as possible — early notification helps ensure MERI can provide as much support as possible, from pitch through to submission.
